Gin was created by a Dutch chemist in the 16th century to cleanse the blood of folks suffering from kidney disorders. The creation was named genièvre, French for juniper...which is what gin is distilled from. Mass production of gin in England soon followed and eventually made its way into American culture where it developed its very own unique history filled with love, passion, lawlessness, bathtubs, secrecy and, now...craft!
