Event Description:
Learn to combine common household items like oil, baking soda, and vinegar with acrylic paint, sand, and ink to create textured mixed media pieces you will love. Start with 5×7 foam core board and layer materials as you learn to see everyday items in new ways. Students are encouraged to explore the natural tendencies of these items, as well as different ways to manipulate the media with paintbrushes, feathers, and other tools to get a finished piece.
This new extended version of Texturescapes will include the use of earth, fabrics, ink sprays, watercolor powders, salt, and stencils. We'll be using different kinds of paper as well as canvas, and will also explore layering, so some projects will be built upon through the 4 classes.
MATERIALS
$40 materials fee payable to instructor on the first day of class.
