Why is the price $55 per attendee at a table? Tables are highly likely to be made up of a mix of members and non-members, so the unit pricing is set mid-way between the two individual fees.
Even if a table IS made up of all members, the upcharge is for the reservation itself (holding a full or half table for specific people); otherwise the event is open seating and attendees would have to meet up, get together and find available space if they wanted to sit together.
With a reserved table, members are able to select who they sit with and have it guaranteed in advance, with a slight upcharge. Non-member guests do get a bit of a break if they’re in a group that’s willing to commit to a multiple seat purchase.
