What deserves your time when you can’t do everything?
Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman invites us to reconsider the pressure to stay productive and make more deliberate choices about how we spend our lives.
SCWCC Read & Lead offers an interactive evening to reflect on priorities, commitments and the choices that shape our work and personal lives.
After 15 minutes of open networking, we’ll move into a facilitated group discussion exploring:
• Defining what matters: Which commitments deserve more of your attention?
• Accepting limits: What changes when we acknowledge we can’t do it all?
• Choosing intentionally: What might you need to decline to protect a priority?
• Being present: How do distractions affect the time we have?
• Taking the next step: What could you change to make your schedule better reflect your values?
You do not need to have finished the book to participate, although it helps. Come ready to connect, reflect and share. Attendees are responsible for obtaining and bringing their own copy of the book. Check Pikes Peak Library District, Poor Richard’s or your favorite bookstore for availability. Space is limited to keep the conversation intimate and meaningful.
